Ayana is completing a placement with the Violence Prevention Program (VPP), a community-based initiative that delivers educational workshops for children and youth ages 10–18 and their families. Through the VPP, they support and facilitate workshops on topics including cyber safety, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, racism, self-esteem, bullying, and violence prevention.

Her long-term career goal is to pursue a career in forensic social work, with a particular interest in supporting youth and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Through this placement, they hope to further develop their skills in youth engagement, mental health support, violence prevention, advocacy, and trauma-informed practice.
